Oxygen Metabolism: Overview for our Aims
How to understand hyperventilation in this psycho-physical work
Hello my friends,
This weeks weekly technically technical breakdown has arrived. Like last week, this was inspired by a member question in our Bio-Individual telescram group, and it provided fruitful grounds for clarification.
Hyperventilation is an often misunderstood phenomena. As with everything else in this wretched, basic bitch world, discourse almost always simply comes down to the debilitating, psychically deflating frame of either/or. Barely anyone can think outside of this frame.
Or book excerpts. Accursed book excerpts.
In general, almost everyone I’ve come across is a metaphysical generaliser, and even those who consider themselves “very scientific” in their essential life posture can’t seem to break this grave human curse (more on this another time).
Even more amusing, the so-called spiritual/meditation/optimisation/solarbro overlap worlds online (which really just boils down to a support group for cripples of the spirit - nothing remotely interesting happens in those circles other than a show and tell for “books I read today” to the other kindergarten children) encapsulate these dual stupidities discussed above to spectacularly nauseating degrees.
As we know, nothing worthwhile can ever be adequately expressed in such cretinous, humanoid-autobot, habitually reactive framings.
This is why “takes” are worthless for anything other than complaining about what happened in politics today. Or making someone look like a prick online. It has it’s uses. For anything other than this, I’ve grown to despise takes.
It’s worthless for anything requiring subtlety and complex analysis. The medium can’t sustain the right kind of attention. So beware of stuff you come across on there.
Science papers on the other hand, which are widely accessible and a far better use of your time will shed far more lux for you, admittedly, with a fair degree more effort. Nothing can beat combining this technical knowledge with practice - it’s in this action, the only real action for beings like us, that the knowledge becomes organic. It becomes real.
When one is furiously peppered with all manner of nice sounding platitudes and distractions, fights between feral scumbots you’ve never heard of nor care about outside of your mouse-brain mammalian reactions - well, it’s fair to say stupid ideas and stupid people get a fair go of it online.
So long as they’re “just a f%cking decent person” “nice” “thinking positive” “one of the tribe” or are willing to play the game and gently cradle some testicles - these types are often amplified to absurd and ridiculous degrees. Their idiocies circulated to dizzying proportions.
X-perts don’t study properly, this is despite the numerous book excerpt posts and threads. They don’t practice. I know this because I can see it in their language and descriptions of things i know about. It’s obvious. They lack the ability to focus, but they like to repackage things to be accepted in the group.
Worse yet, esoteric accounts don’t reference where they got it. But I can always tell where it came from. Usually, they do an exceedingly poor job of representing the persons work, and worse, are unable to build on it in their own way. This is because they understand it (badly) from a book, but have never done it. It doesn’t come from them. They just want to be liked.
For anyone who is serious about this kind of work, such cheesy American-style bite-sized info-morsel hustle-sell content streams simply won’t do. It’s an insult for us to be subjected to the dishevelled murmurings of halfwits.
The hilarious truth is they have no sense of self that exists apart from how others and the ideas of other thinkers define them. Everyone got pissy when I said they didn’t really have a self. They insisted that “I does got one” with all sorts of snarky, passive aggressive undertones in their messaging. Metaphysical generalisations were rampant.
Yet in the truest way, they basically possess no-thing in them that is in anyway truly self-defined. There is depth to this statement and it’s worth thinking about more. What this means.
This is ironically part of this work when done properly - creating that space. That possibility for what they wrongly think they already have.
Depressingly for these people, X and life in general provide true no-self as it’s primary product.
Moving on…
There is a place in the psycho-physiological space for most things as anyone in the know knows. We are processual, organic beings, afterall. Not broken machines.
So it’s true to say both deboonkers and somatic-feelings-jerks alike have no idea about why hyper-vent may be useful as a tool, or why it may occur as a pathology. A precipitate or indicative of a physiological postural issue or many other things…a whole processual kaleidoscope that we need to consider deeply.
More specifically, this recording is mostly applicable to the breath re-wiring material I’ve presented here.
