Hyatt 2: The Wretched Herd vs The Marginal Type
Grist for the grindmill, or live on your own terms
Gentlemen
This week's podcast links are below. Part 2 of our analysis of the Hyatt interview.
Took a different direction this week. Spoke about many things, but mainly the dynamic tussle between the herd mentality, the mass man, and the true marginal type.
Some of the missteps marginals take…The current fetishisation of normality…
Who are the real normalf@gs?
We try to give a clear picture of the perceptual perspective of not being ruled by momentary compulsions and language constructs as a way to disconnect from the tendencies of the herd-man-homunculus that attempts to pull our levers. Detached from the inner and external excesses of the Hoi Polloi.
Many look at marginals in moral terms. Marginals are often wrongly associated explicitly with leftism. I disagree; in fact, ample evidence suggests that leftists are merely the current adaptors of normalfagg00try.
In my view, marginals are probably not defined by belief, rather, lack thereof. They likely are characterised by being outside of the time in which they live, and this is not necessarily "bad genetic health" or some other type of abstract silliness. It is genetic difference - but the truth is whatever survives survives and whatever thrives thrives, beyond our penchant of moralistic categorisation, what is simply is.
Mutant, yes. Spiteful, perhaps. But it seems true to me that the herd has always been truly spiteful. And most ugliness has been exacted and represented by the multitude, i.e. the normal.
True marginals herald new things, ideas and ways of doing things: but they are always hated and marginalised by the herd man, unless they’re clever about it. Marginals always need to be careful of the good people.
In the past, I believe flare ups of such men were by chance or accident, and many potentially powerful men were stunted by the worst excesses of the normoidality, by the fibrotic, stultifying norms of their times.
But is there another way? Can the techniques of religions, of ancient physiological insight, coupled with science and material insight be used to emancipate such types, to unlock their potential more regularly and successfully? I’m not sure, but I suspect it could be the the case.
Normality is something fetishised by many dissidents today as being the gold standard of life. Something, hilariously, to be strived towards. Of course no one can quite agree on what exactly constitutes normalcy. Probably because no one is really all that normal to begin with.
Everything just has to go back to being normal and we’re the normal is ones, the fake normal ones being normal now are not really the true normal ones.
It would seem to me that a dissident is anything other than a normalf@g. But here in lies the problem. It's always the case of "we're the real wholesome normalf@gs, dontyaknow". Though if one were so disagreeable, to the point of being shunned because you’re right, I suspect you may, in fact, be the mutant. Genetically dissimilar.
What is a normal one? Who is indeed is really a standardised f@g? Are normalf@gs even normal anyway?
There is nothing ordinary about any human being. Some stronger, some weaker, some beautiful, some ugly - but overall they are really quite bizarre when you look at them, even the better examples.
I think it’s truer to say maybe that what there really is is a consensus man.
Consensus man is usually a problem for the marginal type. Consensus never leads to breakthrough, or anything even remotely interesting. As Hyatt says, variability is the key to anything worthwhile. Otherwise it’s beer, sportsball, leverage, white goods and monkey nest obsessions all the way down, I’m afraid. These are just some of the thoughts that plague me on an afternoon beach walk.
Again, this was a more free-form conversational episode.
We're excited to go deeper into this kind of work, and we're lining up some guests related to this whole thing.
Finally, look out Sunday night for my first paid post in a "mindfulness fast track' series.
