Part 1 of a series on the problems with the verb 'to be' within the context of the English language, our own take on how a simple linguistic feature contributes to personal and civilisational "insanity".

This being only one element of Korzybski's entire work, and not intended as a detailed overview of general semantics and Alfred Korzybski.
